Google Maps Visibility

The map pack shows three businesses. We get you into that top three, and widen the area you appear across, so you're found further from your front door, not just on your own street.

The top three, or invisible

When someone searches on Google or Maps, three businesses get the pins at the top. Fourth place and below is effectively invisible, almost nobody taps "more places."

And the area you rank across is smaller than you think. Most businesses show up in the top three only very close to their own address. A few streets out, they vanish. Every one of those "invisible" streets is a customer handed to a competitor. The goal of Maps visibility work is simple: push your top-three coverage outward, street by street, until you own your whole service area.

  • We track coverage on a real map, not vanity metrics
  • Google's own ranking factors, applied honestly
  • Steady, measurable expansion
  • No guaranteed-ranking claims

What's included

Google ranks Maps results on three things, proximity (fixed), **relevance**, and **trust**. We can't move your address, so we build the other two:

  • Relevance signals

A fully optimised Google Business Profile and website content that tells Google exactly what you do and where.

  • Trust signals

Quality local links and citations that prove you're an established, legitimate business, so Google is confident ranking you further out.

  • Geographic coverage

Content and signals about the specific areas you serve, so your top-three radius grows.

  • Rank-map tracking

A geo-grid map, re-run regularly, showing green coverage spreading across your area. This is our north star and yours.

How it works

  1. 1

    Map where you stand.

The free geo-grid report shows your current top-three coverage, point by point.

  2. 2

    Build relevance.

Profile and content aligned so Google understands you completely.

  3. 3

    Build trust.

Quality local links and citations, added steadily.

  4. 4

    Expand coverage.

Push the green further out, and keep tracking it on the map.

Why it matters. Every extra street where you hit the top three is more calls, more directions, more customers, from searches you're already losing today.

See for yourself

The geo-grid report makes progress impossible to fake or hide. You literally watch the map turn green, and that transparency is the point.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I show up at my shop but not a few streets away?
Because proximity is one of Google's ranking factors, and it's working against you further out. We overcome it by building the relevance and trust that let you rank beyond your immediate area.
Isn't the map pack just about who's closest?
Closeness matters, but it's not everything. Otherwise the nearest business would always win. Relevance and trust are why a slightly-further business often outranks a closer one, and that's the gap we close for you.
What's a rank map / geo-grid?
A grid of points across your area where we check your Maps position, then colour each green (top three) or red (not). It shows exactly how far your visibility reaches, and proves whether the work is landing.
How long to widen my coverage?
Foundational work often moves things in 4–6 weeks; expanding across a competitive area takes longer and is ongoing. We show you the map so you can see it happening.
Do I need a physical address to rank on Maps?
You need a valid Google Business Profile. Service-area businesses that hide their address can still rank. The visibility work expands the area you're found across either way.

Own your whole area, not just your street.
